School Policies

Enrolment in St. Joseph’s School implies on the part of the pupil and the parents willingness to comply with the requirements of the student and regulations of the School.

1. All are expected to reach the School at least 5 minutes before the time fixed for morning School-Assembly and join the prayers. Late comers should get the clearance, from the office before entering the class-room .

Students who reach the School after the bell will not be granted attendance and if this continues for 3 days he/she may be asked to return home.

In the School campus, all have to converse ONLY in English.

2. All student should come to School in neat and clean Schooluniform.

3. Students should not ride their cycles in the School campus. Cycles must be kept locked in the cycle-shed.

4. No student is allowed to leave the School campus at any time, during the School hours, without the permission of the Principal. The students will not be allowed to go home with anyone, other than their parents/guardians. A gate pass will be issued from the office, without which, the watchman on duty will not allow the student to leave the campus.

ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO :

1. Show respect to all the School-staff : the teaching and the nonteaching.

2. Avoid shouting, whistling or running about the School building.

3. Avoid throwing papers, chalks, stones etc. anywhere in or around the School premises, except in the dust-bins, provided for the purpose.

GENERAL RULES OF THE SCHOOL

1. Observe all the rules of good conduct in the vehicles and in the streets to and fro the School.

2. Strict silence is to be observed at the freeze-bell, in the morning after the recess and in the School passages.

3. To be admitted to the class room those who come late, must show their regularity-record to their class-teacher, duly signed by the Principal and in the absence of the Principal, by the Moderator.

4. Students should always keep their copy books and text books, well covered with brown paper and properly labeled, with their names, classes and subjects.

5. Books, other than the prescribed curriculum or other printed matters, should not be brought to the School.

6. No subscription can be raised without the permission of the Principal. No gifts to the members of the staff be made, without the explicit permission of the Principal.

7. Students are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings. The School does not take the responsibility of the lost articles.

8. Principal has the right to suspend or dismiss any student(s) whose presence in the School is not conducive, to the good image of the School.

9. Students are directed to take their respective report cards and return them on time. The defaulters will be fined Rs. 10/- (ten) per day.

10. No collection, for any purpose whatsoever, by staff and/or by students, may be made, without the prior permission of the Principal.

11. Care must be taken of the School property. The students must not scratch or spoil the furniture, write on the wall or in any way damage, what is provided for their use. Any kind of damage done to the School property/articles, will lead to the payment of the damages.

12. No one is allowed to put mehendi, lipstick or nail-polish and attend the School.

16. Mobile phones, cameras, or any costly gadget(s), will be confiscated, if found with any student in the School.

13. No books, periodicals or magazines or any printed material or pictures of an objectionable nature should be brought to the School. All books for private reading must be submitted to the class teacher for approval. It is the School authorities who will decide on the objectionable nature of the reading material.

14. No one is allowed to bring to School any sharp objects, like knife, scissors, blades, crackers or any object harmful to the fellow students. Anyone found with these, will be suspended from School.

15. No Student must wear finger rings and come to school.

16. No student is allowed to fight or use any abusive/derogatory language, in or outside the School campus.

17. No student, without any exception from Std. I to X, will be allowed to wear a wrist-watch in the School.

THE TRADITION TO BE KEPT UP !

1. To be always with friends with one another and show respect towards elders, in and out of School.

2. To avoid vulgarity in word, deed and behavior.

3. To accept whatever work is assigned, with willingness and joy.

4. To offer help to any unattended visitor, who happens to be in the School campus.

5. To rise when any Father(s), Sister(s), Teacher(s) or visitor(s) enter(s) or pass(es) through any class-rooms, in which you happen to be alone or with classmates.

6. To be courteous with people always and sportsman-like, with opposing teams of different houses.

7. To respect and protect the rights of other pupils.

8. To respect and preserve the School property and report at once to the teacher, if any damage, has been observed.

9. Not to drop papers in the School premises or throw out of the windows. To pick up such papers, when found.

10. To learn and observe good manners, everywhere.

11. To speak no ill of your School mate(s) or of the discipline or management of the School. Everyone is free to remain or not to remain in the School.

12. Always speak well of your School and of your teachers. Strive to edify your School-mates, by your good behavior and examples, at all times.

13. Gladly help one another. Make no distinction in the choice of your companions. Let no one be slighted in any game and let there be no selfishness.
